How we collect, use, retain, and protect your personal information.
When you fill out our contact form we collect the details you enter: your name, email address, phone number, property address (if you provide one), the service you are interested in, and whatever you write in the message field. We collect this because you are asking us to get in touch about a project — nothing more.
We run our own analytics on our own server. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising networks, social media pixels, or any other third-party tracker. When you view a page we record:
Your IP address reaches our server as part of any ordinary web request. We use it momentarily to work out an approximate location and to generate a visitor identifier, and then we discard it. We do not store your IP address.
The visitor identifier is a one-way cryptographic hash, salted with a secret held only on our server and with the current date. Because the date is part of the input, the identifier changes every day. This lets us count how many separate people visited on a given day without being able to recognise you tomorrow, link your visits over time, or work backwards to your identity.
We do not set any cookies for analytics, advertising, or tracking. Our analytics are cookieless. Your browser stores a short random value for the duration of your tab, which is used to group the pages of a single visit together; it is discarded when you close the tab and is never sent anywhere except our own server.
We store one cookie for a light or dark theme preference, and a session cookie for staff signing in to our private internal dashboard. Neither is used to track you.
Contact details are used to reply to your enquiry, prepare your quote, and carry out work you engage us for. Analytics are used only in aggregate, to understand which pages and services people find useful so we can improve the site.
Analytics events are automatically deleted after approximately 13 months. Enquiry records are retained for 24 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Project and customer records are retained for the period California contractor recordkeeping rules require, then securely destroyed.
If you are a California resident you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to obtain a copy, to have it deleted, to correct it, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of it. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the right stands. Exercising any of these rights will never result in you being treated differently.
To make a request, email privacy@whollyconstruction.com or call (925) 895-5637. We will verify your request and respond within 45 days.
The Site is served over HTTPS. Analytics and enquiry data are stored on our own server, not with a third-party platform. The internal dashboard that displays this data requires a password and is excluded from search engines.
The Site runs on a virtual private server that we control, and our analytics and enquiry records are stored there. Email you send us is handled by our email provider. We do not pass your information to advertising networks, data brokers, or analytics companies.
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the Site.
